ECPAT International and Arigatou International Co-host Geneva Discussions

Posted on Sep 1, 2015

On 27 August 2015, ECPAT International co-hosted a full day of panel discussions with Arigatou International on the protection of children from all forms of violence.

The panels addressed the sale and sexual exploitation of children and violence within the family, school and community. The event was a forum for international experts from UN agencies, non-governmental organisations and Law enforcement agencies to come together with religious leaders and Faith Based Organisations (FBOs) to exchange information on emerging trends, share good practices and reflect on this global problem from a moral and ethical perspective.

It also provided an opportunity for religious leaders and secular organisations to consider new types of concerted actions with regard to prevention and awareness raising.

This forum was held in Geneva, Switzerland as the international community prepares for the UN Summit in September, which will see the adoption by Heads of States of the Sustainable Development Goals.
